Technique Features of Predissociation Rotary Kiln

In 1970s, the emergence of the predissociation rotary kiln and the successive maturity of the relevant new technologies, techniques and equipment changed the burning conditions of the cement clinker, powder grinding conditions, homogenization conditions and the technology control conditions. In order to adapt to this new situation, foreign cement manufacturing companies constantly researched and analyzed the proportioning scheme of the predissociation rotary kiln and chose the best proportioning scheme which had the features of high silica modulus, high aluminum-oxygen modulus and medium saturation ratio.

For a long period of time, the cement industry has accumulated rich experience in the design of the proportioning scheme. Since the main production methods used by the large and medium-sized cement manufacturing companies are wet method, traditional dry method and semidry method, we researched a proportioning method featured with high iron, medium saturation ratio and low silicon modulus and this method has achieved good results in the real production.

The thermotechnical features of the predissociation rotary kiln is to apply the principle of suspension preheat and predissociation into the preheat and dissociation process of the raw materials, in this way, the production efficiency is significantly improved, and the dissociation ratio of the materials that are sent into the rotary kiln can reach 90%, the temperature of the materials can reach over 800°C, which greatly decreased the thermal load of this machine, and the energy that is needed burn the materials inside the kiln is also decreased. At the same time, because the temperature of the secondary air is relatively high, the solid-phase reaction is pretty concentrated and the temperature of the blaze is easy to be adjusted, the thermal regulation inside the rotary kiln can be stabilized very easily, and it is likely for the rotary kiln to undertake complicated burning task.

Generally speaking, when high silicon modulus is adopted, it does not need high saturation ratio in order to satisfy the quality need of the clinker. And what is more, properly decreasing the saturation ratio will decrease the content of the carbonate mineral in the raw materials. As a result, the heat of formation of the clinker will be decreased and at the same time the heat consumption of the clinker will also be decreased.
